In Memoriam: Vice President Jim Baxter

Hello.

I wish I was reaching out to everyone with happier news, but it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved friend and Branch 82 Vice President, Jim Baxter.

Jim played an important role at Branch 82 over the years, as Shop Steward, Chief Steward, DRT rep and lastly as the Branch 82 Vice President. Jim was respected nationally throughout the NALC.

He was a mentor to many of us. Personally, Jim helped me navigate through the early years, when I was just starting out as a shop steward, and was most recently, while President, one of my closest and trusted advisers. He was one of my dearest friends. Jim Baxter had been a consistent part of my work life for my entire career. I couldn't have asked for a better Vice President.

We are all reeling from this news and I ask that you keep Jim's family in your thoughts. When we know about any potential service or celebration of Jim's life, we will let everyone know.
